People who think in the peculiar way that comes while painting (or drawing) might recognize themselves in some of the quotes that I have chosen to place alongside my watercolours. Those taken from the Handke poem suggest a spine-tingling appreciation of duration that I am not fully able to describe\u2026 fortunately he is! Anyway, it is something you feel as you paint. Maybe the definitive quote from David Hockney says it all: “I thought, if I want to, I could paint a portrait; this is what I mean by freedom \u2026”<\/em>.<\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
